Single image HDR in Photoshop

Going to Image>Mode and clicking on 32 bit, then Image>Mode 16 bit brings [sounds crazy doesn't it?] up the HDR dialogue box. This contains the following drop-down menus:
Exposure and Gamma
Highlight Compression
Equalise Histogram
Local Adaptation
Local Adaptation reveals the tone curve.
