Want to improve the detail in your images?

In Photoshop using a new layer on the whole image, or using a selection:

Image>Adjustments>Shadows/Highlights

Once in Shadows/highlights try the following as a starting point:

Shadows 20% amount 20% tonal width
Highlights 20% amount 60% tonal width
